This cleanser is a cream-to-oil-like product that is applied on dry skin and then rinsed off. Based on its texture and method of use I had a few reservations because it was the first time I was applying a cleanser on dry skin.

I have been using it for over 3 months now and it has considerably contributed to brightening the darker areas of my face it cleared a few dark spots I had from post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) in a week!

This serum is the second-best product I have tried from The Ordinary, and it is one of the best direct acid serums the company offers.

It is not a coincidence that this product is called Natural Moisturizing Factors. It contains other essential moisturizing elements such as ceramides. These are a group of naturally occurring fatty acids that help reinforce the skin’s outer barrier and prevent transepidermal water loss.

e.l.f SKIN

This is actually one of those products that delivered on all its claims and has become one of my go-to's and I just had to share it with you guys because this product, in my opinion, is still very relevant.

Where Can I Buy The Ordinary Skincare?

Purchase The Ordinary's skincare products from their official website, DECIEM, or authorized online retailers like Sephora, Ulta, and Cult Beauty. Physical stores, such as Sephora and Ulta branches, may also carry their products. Always buy from reputable sources to ensure authenticity and product quality.

What Are Peptides in Skincare?

Peptides, short chains of amino acids, are vital for healthy skin structure and function. In skincare, they penetrate the skin, stimulating collagen production, improving elasticity and firmness, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and promoting healing. With potential anti-inflammatory properties and hydrating benefits, peptides are safe, effective ingredients commonly found in anti-aging products for youthful, healthy skin.

Where Can I Buy Korean Skincare?

You can get Korean skincare from online retailers such as Soko Glam, YesStyle, Peach & Lily, and Wishtrend. Or branded online stores such as Innisfree, COSRX, Etude House, and Missha. Or some physical beauty stores such as Ulta. If you live in a city with a significant population of Koreans or Asians, there are going to be dedicated K-beauty stores around you.

When Should You Exfoliate Your Face in a Skincare Routine?

Exfoliate after cleansing and before applying toner, preferably during your evening routine. Following a proper exfoliation guide, evening exfoliation allows your skin to recover overnight without exposure to sun or environmental stressors. Over-exfoliation can cause irritation, so adjust frequency based on your skin's response, and always follow with appropriate moisturizer and sun protection the next day to ensure your skin's health.

How Do I Patch Test a Skin Care Product?

To patch test a skincare product, apply a small amount on a discreet area, like behind your ear or on your inner forearm. Wait 24-48 hours and observe for signs of irritation, redness, itching, or swelling. If you experience a reaction, discontinue use. If no reaction occurs, it's generally safe to use.

When Do I Apply Sunscreen in a Skincare Routine?

Sunscreen should be applied as the final step of your morning skincare routine after all other skincare products have been applied. Follow this in choosing the right sunscreen,  and make sure to apply it evenly on all exposed areas of your face and neck, and allow it to absorb for a few minutes before applying makeup. Great to reapply sunscreen every two hours or immediately after sweating or swimming to maintain adequate sun protection.

How To Build a Skincare Routine?

Building an essential skincare routine involves determining your skin type, addressing your specific concerns, and selecting appropriate products. A dermatologist or esthetician would recommend the appropriate products. Monitor your skin's response to your routine and make adjustments as necessary. If a product causes irritation or doesn't address your concerns, try alternatives or consult with a dermatologist for guidance.

What Basic Products Do I Need in a Skincare Routine?

A basic skincare routine includes essential products like a cleanser for removing dirt and excess oil, a moisturizer for hydration, and a sunscreen for protection against sun damage. The choice of products should be suitable for your skin type. Additional targeted treatments or exfoliators can be included based on individual skin concerns.

How Many Times Should I Exfoliate My Face?

For most skin types, exfoliating 1- 3 times per week is sufficient, but be cautious not to over-exfoliate as it can lead to irritation. Remember to follow up with an appropriate moisturizer or hydrating face cream and sun protection to keep your skin healthy and radiant.

Why is Skin Care Important?

Skincare is crucial for preserving healthy skin and targeting issues such as acne, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation. A simple 5-step skincare routine removes impurities, exfoliates dead skin, hydrates, and defends against environmental harm, enhancing the skin's barrier function and reducing sensitivity. Skincare not only slows aging and protects against harmful UV rays, but also fosters overall well-being, boosting self-esteem and creating a well-groomed appearance.
